What is a Heritage Racer?
A Heritage Racer is a hand-built electric ride-on scale car for children, inspired by the legendary 1950s Formula 1 cars that carried Juan Manuel Fangio to five World Championships. Each one is built in Miami by Sancho Motors and comes in three models: the D50 (inspired by the Lancia-Ferrari D50), the W196 (inspired by the Mercedes-Benz W196), and a personalized edition.
What ages are the cars for?
The exclusive 9-position adjustable pedal system lets our cars be driven by kids aged 6 to 15, up to a maximum height and weight of 5'6" (170 cm) and 155 lbs (70 kg). The pedals adjust to the driver's leg length and grow with your child.
How fast do they go?
Up to 12.4 mph (20 km/h), with forward and reverse gears and smooth, gradual acceleration. A disc-based braking system keeps every ride safe and controlled.
What are they made of?
Each car is built on a monocoque steel tubular chassis with a fiberglass-and-steel body for exceptional strength, durability, and light weight, finished with artificial-leather upholstery.
Are they electric? How long do they charge?
Yes. Each car runs on a 24V, 500 W electric motor powered by two 12V deep-cycle batteries. A full charge takes 4 to 7 hours with the included 110V/24V charger, and the batteries have a lifespan of about 350 charge cycles with no memory effect, so they can be charged as often as needed.
What is the car's range?
Range depends on three factors: the weight of the driver, the driving speed, and the surface the car is driven on.
Can the car be personalized?
Yes. The personalized edition can be customized with the driver's name, a preferred racing number, and a country flag of choice.
Do they come with a warranty?
Yes — every Heritage Racer comes with a 12-month warranty from the delivery date.
What maintenance do they need?
Very little. Regularly check tire pressure (40–50 PSI), battery charge, and the brake system. The electric motor is maintenance-free. To preserve the car, store it indoors and use a cover to keep dust off.
